Our favourite smoothie recipes

With the weather getting warmer, there’s no excuse not to make use of all the fruit and vegetables available. A great way to get your five-a-day or more is by whizzing them into a delicious smoothie. Contrary to popular belief, smoothies don’t have to be packed with different types of sugar to be enjoyable and can still be used as part of a balanced diet.

We’ve put together our favourite recipes for you because the more natural and homemade your smoothies are, the better!

Berry Nice

The yoghurt and oats in this recipe help fill you up, so it’s perfect for a quick breakfast for all of the family. Berries are full of antioxidants, high in fibre to aid metabolism, and can help lower cholesterol.

Carrot and Ginger Juice

This smoothie will warm you up on the inside with its spicy addition of ginger. The root ingredient is known to increase circulation and be anti-inflammatory. The carrots are packed with Vitamin A to keep your vision and organs strong. They come into season during May, so are a sustainable choice.

Raspberry and Apple

As well as its gorgeous bright colour, this raspberry smoothie is the perfect summer drink. The raspberries provide Vitamin C, while the apple can aid weight loss. The addition of coconut water means the smoothie could help against diabetes and could prevent kidney stones.

Sweet Green Machine

Green foods might seem unappealing and fill you with horrid thoughts of nothing but a leafy vegetable taste. We’ve got you covered with this delicious 3-ingredient recipe. The pineapple mixed with coconut makes the drink feel just short of a piña colada, so you barely notice the spinach! Spinach is also at its best in May, so you should snap it up quick.

Coconuts and Bananas

Packed with the warmth of turmeric and ginger, this smoothie is sure to fight off any chance of a cold you feel coming your way. Its tangy taste and yoghurt texture can be enjoyed at breakfast, but even as a healthy dessert option. The baobab powder is optional, but if you can get your hands on some, it can help with your body’s energy release and give you glowing skin.

After you’ve made one of these delicious smoothies, it’s time to tackle the washing up. Just like the drink you’ve made, the NatBrands washing up products are plant-based too! You can use the Pear, Grapefruit or Fragrance-free Dishmate Washing-up Liquid alongside the 100% biodegradable LoofCo Washing-up Pad to get your blender ready to try the next smoothie.
