Notes from the Sink: Making the Most of Every Last Scrap

LoofCo washing-up soap packages with branding and product details on a green backgroundOne of the things I love most about our Washing-Up Soap Bar is that they really do go the distance — but even the best things come to an end. Or do they?

When your soap bar gets down to those last few slivers and scraps, don't be tempted to throw them away. Simply gather them up and press them firmly together in your hands. The warmth and a little moisture is all it takes to bind them into a perfectly usable mini bar of soap. It won't win any beauty contests, but it'll carry on doing the job just as well as the day you opened it. Zero waste, every time.

And while we're talking about getting the most from your soap, here's something we do every day at the sink. We store our soap bar nestled on a LoofCo Loofah Soap Rest — it keeps the bar dry between uses and extends its life no end. But here's the bit people often miss: when the soap rest starts to get clogged up with soap residue, rather than just rinsing it under the tap, put it to work first.

That combination of built-up soap and loofah fibre makes a brilliant little scrubbing pad. Give the area around the sink a good scrub with it before you rinse it out — it cuts through limescale and grime beautifully, and you've cleaned your sink into the bargain. Then rinse the soap rest clean and it's ready to go again.

Two products, no waste, a cleaner sink. That's the kind of logic we like at LoofCo.
